I’m Lauren and I love all things crafty!

As a child, I often knitted and sewed stuffed toys with my Nan. I loved spending this quality time with her and look back on these memories in fondness.

However, becoming a teenager meant I stopped crafting. Fast forward to my first year at university, I decided to pick up some knitting needles. The first covid lockdown hit and thankfully I had a new hobby to keep me busy – what great timing!

In my third year of university, I decided to try my hand at needle felting – something I had wanted to try for a long time, but felt too intimidated to commit. It has since turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made! I have found so much joy from this hobby and love every moment spent stabbing at wool.

In September 2022 I began my teacher training course. This meant I had very little time to craft, but still squeezed in some where I could. I incorporated needle felting into my teaching, and my colleagues and student LOVED the creativity it sparked.

I have now been needle felting for over two years and it is clear to see the progress I have made. I also dabble in crochet, miniatures, embroidery, and cross-stitch. Although I really enjoy each one, needle felting is where my passion lies.

I have recently started making custom pet commissions; this is keeping me very busy and I am really enjoying the challenges I am facing with lifelike replicas. I am also learning so much from each make! I also plan to open an online store in the not too distant future, and attend some fairs and events in the summer.

I can’t wait to see the progress I make in 2024!
